The grant that I picked was the CVS Caremark Community
Grant. I picked this grant because being
a special education teacher we are taught that no child should ever be left
behind and that all students should be given the opportunity to live up to
their potential. In this grant that is
exactly what is taking place. This program must be given to children with
disabilities that are in inclusive programs. The grant will be able to give funding
to academic or enrichment programs and education to the at risk or underserved
population. I particularly picked this grant, because I think it will really
help with funding for the alternative program at my school. Even though we have
a good alternative program for are at risk population, the resources that this
funding can provide can really take the program to the next level. The grant is
up to 5,000 dollars and is accepted through Jan1st-Oct 31st. To
apply for this grant you need to go to http://info.cvscaremark.com/community/our-impact/community-grants/public-schools.
Once at the site you will
have to meet the minimum requirements which are:
- Qualifying organizations are
eligible for grants up to $5,000.
- All nonprofit organizations
applying for a Community Grant for this type of program ARE REQUIRED to
provide their EIN number before they can begin the eligibility quiz.
- Organizations must be serving
communities where CVS Caremark has a business presence. This includes
organizations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico with the exception of Colorado,
Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota, and Arkansas.
- All CVS Caremark Community Grant

Then you
start the application process
- Our process requires that all
applicants answer a number of questions pertaining to the program for
which they are applying before gaining access to the application. These
simple questions help us determine if your program falls within our
guidelines. Once you select which type of grant you wish to apply for
(children with disabilities, health care for the uninsured or underserved,
or public schools) you will be taken to an online application tool that
will present these prescreening questions.
- If you are chosen to receive a
grant, we will connect you with CVS Caremark colleagues in your area so
that they can participate in your volunteer projects.
- Once you pass our pre-screening
process and complete the application/proposal form, you can expect an
e-mail response within four to six weeks, whether or not your program has
been chosen for funding.
- Please do not call or e-mail us
during the review process, as we will be unable to provide any additional
information or status.
- All nonprofit organizations
applying for a Community Grant for this type of program ARE REQUIRED to
provide their EIN number before they can begin the eligibility quiz.
Please note public schools do not need an EIN to apply.
I provided
this application process, because since the application has closed for this
term, I cannot show you direct instructions, but I am looking forward to
looking at the process further and applying for the grant
